National History Day

Ghana National History Day (NHD) is a programme designed to create opportunities for teachers, students and others who are interested in the study of history to engage in real historical research. The aim is to encourage people of diverse backgroundsparticularly; school children to be involved in doing history and in doing so create awareness of the value of history. The idea is to learn history by doing history.  Participants selecttopics that interest them from a given theme, conduct research on the topic and present their findings in the form of exhibits, original papers, and performances. These projects would then be entered into a competition where they would be evaluated by professional historians and educators.
