Vertical Tabs Programme Description Programme Description The Programme seeks to provide: Quality Chemistry Education that will be recognized nationally and internationally for its efficiency in producing excellent chemistry teachers for schools. Training of chemistry teachers who have the requisite professional skills, competence, methodological approach and holistic view of science to enable them teach chemistry at the pre-university levels. Provide opportunities for students to engage in academic and educational research that will help to promote chemistry education in Ghana and elsewhere. Target Group SHS Certificate holders HND holders in subjects relevant to the programme Diploma holders Mode of study: Regular/Full TimeDepartment: Chemistry Education Entry Requirement Entry Requirement: Entry Requirements Applicants must possess any of the following qualifications: A. SSSCE/WASSCE Certificate Holders Six (6) SSSCE/WASSCE Credit passes including three (3) core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science and Grade “C6” or better in Chemistry and any two (2) of the following subjects: Physics, Elective Mathematics and Biology/General Agriculture. B. Mature Applicants Must be at least 25 years by 1st August of the year of application. Must hold (a) Teachers Certificate ‘A’ or (b) SSSCE/WASSCE Certificate or Certificate of Professional training from a recognized institution Must pass the UEW Entrance Examination. C. Diploma Holders Must possess a Diploma or its equivalent in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution Applicants with the relevant background will be placed in the second year. D.
