Election of Convocation Representatives on UEW Governing Council
The term of office of the Convocation Representatives on UEW Governing Council will come to an end on February 28, 2022. Section 8 (1) of the University of Education Act (672) provides that: “Every member of the Council except the Vice-Chancellor and Principals shall hold office for a period of two years and is eligible for re-appointment’.
Statute 70 (2) of the UEW Statutes 2020 also provides that: “The term of office of a Convocation Representative on Council shall be two (2) years and eligible for a further term of two (2) years only.”
As a result, four (4) vacancies have been created in the Convocation slots on Council. Elections will therefore be organised on the two Campuses.
Nominations are open for three (3) representatives for Winneba Campus, and one (1) representative for Ajumako Campus.

Nominations End: Friday, February 18, 2022 (4:00 p.m.)

Election: Thursday, February 24, 2022
Declaration of Results: Thursday, February 24, 2022
A member wishing to contest shall be nominated by an eligible Convocation member. The nomination should be supported by another member of Convocation after which the nominee shall give his/her consent.
Prescribed nomination forms can be downloaded from the UEW Website or obtained from the Department of Publishing and Web Development (Emmanuel Kwasi Ampene Block, Room 218) Winneba Campus and the College Registrar’s Office, Ajumako Campus.
