- PRINCIPAL, COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION, KUMASI

THE POSITION
The Principal is the administrative and academic head of the College. S/he shall be responsible for providing leadership to the College, and for maintaining and providing efficiency and good governance of the College in accordance with policies and procedures prescribed by Act 672 and the Statutes of the University of Education, Winneba.
THE PERSON
Applicants seeking appointment as Principal must be:
- of professorial status or equivalent grade in an analogous institution;
- a doctorate degree holder;
- able to, in addition to being a distinguished scholar, demonstrate the capacity to motivate and direct staff;
- visionary, business oriented, and able to establish rapport between industry and the University;
- sober with maturity and drive for sound and impartial judgment;
- able to serve, at least, a full FOUR-YEAR term of Office before attaining the compulsory retiring age of SIXTY (60) years.
- Moreover, the applicant must:
- exhibit a high sense of industry, leadership qualities and organisational skills and must be above reproach;
- possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the capacity to manage and control crisis situations;
- demonstrate experience in having attracted grants and funds for research and development activities for the College;
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
- The appointment, which is full-time, shall be for four years in the first instance, and may be renewed for another term of three (3) years, altogether making a maximum of seven (7) years. The successful applicant may opt to be a faculty member after serving the seven year term of office before attaining the statutory retiring age of sixty (60) years.

THE POSITION
The Internal Auditor is the head of the Internal Audit of the University and shall be responsible, under the Vice-Chancellor, for the provision of effective leadership and promotion of good governance in accordance with the regulations of the University.
THE PERSON
The applicant must be:
- a distinguished professional with the capacity to motivate and direct staff;
- above reproach and must exhibit a high sense of industry, leadership qualities and organizational skills; possess excellent interpersonal communication skills;
- a member of a recognized professional (Accountancy/Auditing) body (ICA/ACCA/CIMA/CA/CPA, etc), possession of a master’s degree preferably MBA/MSc. in Accounting/Finance would be an advantage.
- Besides, the applicant must have:
- considerable experience in corporate governance;
- served in a university or an analogous institution, or in a reputable and recognized practicing firm, industry, commerce, and/or public sector in a management position;
- a minimum of thirteen (13) years post-qualification experience;
- a minimum of ten (10) years post-professional qualification experience
TERMS OF THE APPOINTMENT
The appointment shall be full-time and the successful applicant must be able to serve a minimum of a FOUR-YEAR term of office before attaining the compulsory retiring age of SIXTY (60) years.

The Finance Officer is the head of the Finance Office and shall be responsible, under the
Vice-Chancellor, for the financial administration of the University.
THE PERSON
The applicant must be:

- above reproach and must exhibit a high sense of industry, leadership qualities and organizational skills; possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- a member of a recognized professional (Accountancy/Auditing) body (ICA/ACCA/CIMA/CA/CPA, etc.), possession of a master’s degree preferably, MBA/MSc. in Accounting/Finance would be an advantage.
- S/he must also have:
- considerable experience in corporate governance

- a minimum of twelve (12) years post-professional qualification experience.

THE POSITION
The Director of Works and Physical Development is the head of the Office of Works and Physical Development of the University. S/he is responsible for the development and maintenance of all physical infrastructural facilities of the University.
THE PERSON
The applicant must:
- possess a minimum of master’s degree and relevant professional qualification from a recognized institution;
- be a registered and practicing member/fellow of a recognized professional body(ies)
- possess a B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying/Architecture or any other relevant degree from a recognized institution.
S/he must also have:
- considerable post-qualification experience in project management, procurement management, physical development, built environment, etc. in a higher educational institution or analogous institution;
- handled and completed a project of a considerably high magnitude and value within a team environment;
- proven leadership and managerial capabilities to lead and coordinate staff and activity;
- excellent interpersonal communication skills;
- considerable experience in office practice and procedure.
- a minimum of fifteen (15) years post-qualification experience.
- a minimum of twelve (12) years post-professional qualification experience.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
The appointment is full-time. The successful applicant should be able to serve a four-year term of office before attaining the compulsory retiring age of Sixty (60) years.
