The University of Education, Winneba has established a “Centre for Conflict, Human Rights and Peace Studies” (CHRAPS) in the Department of Social Studies Education of the Faculty of Social Science Education. The Centre, which is established on the Winneba campus of the University of Education, Winneba, has the same status as an academic department.
The University of Education, Winneba has congratulated Neenyi Ghartey VII on the occasion of his 20th Anniversary as the Oma Odefe and 60th Birthday.
Quantities of assorted items were presented to him at his palace on Wednesday 17th August, 2016.
Presenting the items on behalf of the University, the Deputy Registrar in charge of Academic Affairs, Mrs. Wilhelmina Tete-Mensah congratulated him and asked for God’s Blessings over his life.
In the pantheon of freedom fighters, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi has pride of place. His fame and influence extend far beyond India and are nowhere more significant than in South Africa. "India gave us a Mohandas, we gave them a Mahatma," goes a popular South African refrain. Contemporary South African leaders, including Mandela, have consistently lauded him as being part of the epic battle to defeat the racist white regime.
There is no more powerful tool in the Chief Executives arsenal than the words that he speaks. This is even more evident in the case of the Vice-Chancellor. His statements determine the course of history; crafted deftly, they galvanized the university public support necessary to fulfil an agenda. Conversely, a bad speech can chip away at the aura of a leader, and create opposition to his measures.
The University of Education, Wineba is arguably the fastest growing University in Ghana and indeed Africa. The fast pace with which it is growing coupled with the advancement in technology exposes it to losing its history. This is the raison d'etre of this publication.

The GEM, conceived by the World Bank team is responsible for monitoring and reporting on day-to-day developments in the global economy. It is a "one-stop shop" portal for analysis of current global growth trends, industrial production, international trade, oil and non-oil commodity markets, financial markets as well as currencies.
Africa Development Indicators is the premier data source on the African economy. It contains over 1,400 indicators and time series from 1965 for 53 countries.
