Home Economics (M.Ed )
The M.Ed Sandwich programme was mounted to enable Home Economics, Fashion and Catering teachers in tertiary institutions to upgrade themselves to qualify to teach at the tertiary level.
Home Economics Education (B. Sc )
The 4-year B.Ed Home Economics Education started in 1992 to meet the national need for teachers with higher academic qualification to teach in Ghanaian schools.
In the 2009/2010 academic year, the University made it a policy for all Departments in the science Faculty to offer B.Sc (Bachelor of Science) Programme. Since the Department of Home Economics Education operates under the Faculty of Science Education, the contents and names of our programmes also changed to conform to the faculty’s requirements.

UEW signs MOU with Al-Faruq College of Education
A memorandum of understanding has been signed between UEW and Al-faruq college of Education on 4th October, 2016 at the Council Chamber. The agreement is to provide mentoring for Al-faruq College of Education in the capacity building of their staff.

Avoid Plagiarism - Professor Mawutor Avoke tells matriculants
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba, Professor Mawutor Avoke has advised fresh men and women to be focused, resolute, avoid plagiarism and be aware of self-destructive behaviours like smoking, alcohol and drugs, during their stay on campus. He stressed on the need to avoid plagiarism as this could deny them their certificates.
