Centre for International Programmes

The Centre for International Programmes is charged with the responsibility of managing international relations of the University. It is the first point of call for all international students and guests of the University of Education Winneba (UEW).

The Centre collaborates with relevant departments to design and run special programmes for international students. Some of these programmes include, English with Pedagogy, Proficiency in English, Translation and Interpretation.

Phase 4 of Mentoring Programme for SeniorMembers

The Gender Mainstreaming Directorate commences phase 4 of its Mentoring Programme for Senior Members. The program seeks to assist newly recruited Senior Members (Teaching & non-teaching) with their research and publications.

This facility is open to newly recruited Senior Members and other Senior Members who have not benefited from the programme earlier.

Applications are invited from qualified Senior and Junior Staff of the University for the January 2017 promotions. Requests for application forms should be directed to the Deputy Registrar, Division of Human Resource.

Application and Assessment Forms will be sent only to applicants who meet the criteria for promotion as outlined in the “PROMOTION PROCEDURES FOR SENIOR/JUNIOR STAFF OF THE UNIVERSITY” which has been circulated to Departments/Sections.

A Historical Overview Of Ecowas Intervention In Sub-Regional Conflicts: The Case Of Sierra

In West Africa, violent intra-state conflicts to the magnitude of the Liberian, and 
Sierra Leonean civil wars were new and unexpected. Such a stable country as Sierra
Leone fell as a result of “apartheid styled” government. When violence broke out, it
was thought and taken as one of those political disturbances that in no way could
result in regime instability. With the war raging, ECOWAS bound by her own policy
of non-interference in purely domestic matters and the international community

Ghana National History Day (NHD) is a programme designed to create opportunities for teachers, students and others who are interested in the study of history to engage in real historical research. O.I.A Tasked to Boost UEW Alumni Database

The Office for Institutional Advancement (O.I.A) has been tasked to boost UEW Alumni Database to create an active platform for engaging the Alumni community in projecting its achievements.

This came up in the opening remarks of the Deputy Registrar in charge of the Division of Human Resource, Mrs. Christie Okae-Anti, at an in-service training held for staff of the Office for Institutional Advancement from 10th to12th December, 2016 at the Pecku Conference Room.

UEW PARTICIPATES IN THE 10TH GHANA HIGHER EDUCATION FAIR

The University of Education, Winneba, and (UEW) participated in the on-going 10th Ghana Higher Education Fair in Wa, in the Upper West Region of Ghana organised by I-Texon Ghana. The first phase of the fair commenced on the 18th January and ended on 20th January, 2017. It brought together students from about fifteen (15) Second Cycle Institutions in the Upper West Region of Ghana to have interaction with five (5) Tertiary Institutions in the country regarding their academic programmes on offer.
