B.A KUSAAL EDUCATION

The programme is designed to equip students with knowledge in the Kusaal language, literature and culture. The aim is to prepare students to speak and write the said languages to enable them to teach at the basicmand secondary levels of education. Students are also adequately trained to take up jobs like programme presentation, news reading and community education using the language of study.

B.A KASEM EDUCATION

The programme is designed to equip students with knowledge in the Kasem language, literature and culture. The aim is to prepare students to speak and write the said languages to enable them to teach at the basicmand secondary levels of education. Students are also adequately trained to take up jobs like programme presentation, news reading and community education using the language of study.

B.A GONJA EDUCATION

The programme is designed to equip students with knowledge in the Gonja language, literature and culture. The aim is to prepare students to speak and write the said languages to enable them to teach at the basicmand secondary levels of education. Students are also adequately trained to take up jobs like programme presentation, news reading and community education using the language of study.

B.A GURUNE EDUCATION

The programme is designed to equip students with knowledge in the Gurune language, literature and culture. The aim is to prepare students to speak and write the said languages to enable them to teach at the basicmand secondary levels of education. Students are also adequately trained to take up jobs like programme presentation, news reading and community education using the language of study.

B.A DAGBANI EDUCATION

The programme is designed to equip students with knowledge in the Dagbani language, literature and culture. The aim is to prepare students to speak and write the said languages to enable them to teach at the basicmand secondary levels of education. Students are also adequately trained to take up jobs like programme presentation, news reading and community education using the language of study.

CHRISTMAS OPERETTA 2017

The Department of Music Education is inviting the general public to their Annual Christmas Concert celebration themed "Christmas Operetta" dubbed, Asomdwee Hene by Prof. C. W. K. Mereku.

The venue is at the Amu Theatre, Central Campus on 6th December, 2017.

Desist from ‘soli’ – Ms. Appiah-Adjei warns UEW reporters

A lecturer at the Department of Communication and Media Studies of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Ms. Gifty Appiah-Adjei has warned UEW reporters to refrain from gifts that may influence their reportage.

She said there may be nothing wrong in accepting gifts (soli) or an envelope from event organisers but the question to ask oneself was the motive behind it.

B.A. GA/DANGME EDUCATION

The programme is designed to equip students with knowledge in the Ga or Dangme language, literature and culture. The aim is to prepare students to speak and write Ga or Dangme to enable them to teach at the Basic and Secondary levels of education. Students are also adequately trained to take up jobs like programme presentation, news reading and community education using the language.

 

B.A. EWE EDUCATION

The programme is designed to equip students with knowledge in the Ewe language, literature and culture. The aim is to prepare students to speak and write the language to enable them to teach at the basic and secondary levels of education.  Students are also adequately trained to take up jobs like programme presentation, news reading and community education using the Ewe language.

B. A. (Twi Education)

The programme is designed to equip students with knowledge in the Fante, Nzema or Twi language, literature and culture. The aim is to prepare students to speak and write the said languages to enable them to teach at the basic and secondary levels of education. Students are also adequately trained to take up jobs like programme presentation, news reading and community education using the language of study.

About Us

The Faculty of Ghanaian Languages Education at the University of Winneba, Ajumako campus is one of the academic units established within the University. The Faculty offers undergraduate programmes leading to the award of Bachelor of Arts in Nzema, Fante, Dangme, Ewe, Twi, Ga, Dagbani Dagaare, Kusaal, Kasem, Gurunne and Gonja Education. Its mandate is to provide quality language education through teaching, research and dissemination of research findings. Currently, the faculty consist of four departments:

B. A. Nzema Education

The programme is designed to equip students with knowledge in the  Nzema language, literature and culture. The aim is to prepare students to speak and write the said language to enable them to teach at the basic and secondary levels of education. Students are also adequately trained to take up jobs like programme presentation, news reading and community education using the language of study.

B. A. (Fante Education)

The programme is designed to equip students with knowledge in the Fante, Nzema or Twi language, literature and culture. The aim is to prepare students to speak and write the said languages to enable them to teach at the basic and secondary levels of education. Students are also adequately trained to take up jobs like programme presentation, news reading and community education using the language of study.

UEW Governing Council Inaugurates Five-Member Audit Committee

The Governing Council of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Wednesday, 8th November, 2017 inaugurated a five-member Audit Committee at the Council Chamber, North Campus in Winneba.

The five-member Audit Committee consisted of two Internal Auditors nominated by the Governing Council and three External Auditors nominated by the Internal Audit Agency (IAA) and Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG).  The nominees were Professor Kwame Adom-Frimpong (IAA), Mr. Francis Obeng (ICAG), Mr. Thomas Atuam, Mr. John Darko and Mr. Nathan Yankey (IAA).
