The Governing Council of University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has taken notice of various opinions being expressed on the on-going litigation at both the Winneba High Court and Supreme Court. We wish to put on record that the recent decision of the Governing Council to request six (6) of our officers to step aside was purely in respect of the on-going investigation by EOCO, BNI and the Governing Council.

Patronise “traditional rap” to revive the music industry – Agya Koo Nimo

Veteran folk musician of high-life music, Agya Koo Nimo has advised contemporary musicians to avoid the use of Pidgin English and use more of “traditional rap” to promote the rich culture of Ghanaian songs.

He said that the music industry was dying due to high patronage of modern rap. He therefore admonished new artistes to value “traditional rap” as it portrays the unique Ghanaian culture.

UEW Academic Heads Receive Two-day Orientation at Manna Heights Hotel

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW)  organised a two-day orientation programme from 26th - 27th October, 2017 at Mankessim for Deans, Directors and Departmental Heads for Winneba and Ajumako campuses. It was to remind and sharpen the skills of the experienced ones and help the newly appointed ones gain insight into what is expected of them.

“I shall be objective in all my affairs” – Surv. Paul Osei-Barima (Esq)

Surv. Paul Osei-Barima Esq, the current Registrar of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has said that he shall be objective, remain and maintain positive neutrality in all his dealings with the University.

The Registrar said this on his first day at work at a short meeting to welcome him at the Council Chamber, North Campus on Wednesday, 1st November, 2017. Present at the meeting were the Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Principals of  Colleges, Deans, Directors and Deputy Registrars.

Surv. Paul Osei-Barima, Esq assumes office as the Registrar of the University of Education, Winneba

The Registrar

The Registrar is one of the Principal Officers (viz. the Vice-Chancellor, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, the Registrar, the Finance Officer and the Librarian) of the University of Education, Winneba.

UEW Act of Parliament Act 672 has it that, the University shall have a Registrar who shall be appointed by the Council and shall act as Secretary to the Council and such other Boards and Committees as the Council may direct.
