THREE STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF COPENHAGEN ON TEACHING PRACTICE AT UEW

The Centre for International Programmes (CIP) in collaboration with Student Affairs of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has organized an Intensive Pre-Orientation Programme (IPOP) for students from the University College Capital of Copenhagen, Denmark on Teaching Practice at University of Education, Winneba.  

The orientation was held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Registrar’s Conference Room, North Campus at Winneba.

Seminars with Prof. Dr. Frank Kügler, University of Cologne

Prof.  Dr. Frank Kügler and his assistant from the University of Cologne will visit the College of Languages Education, Ajumako from February 21, 2018 to March 6, 2018 to host  series of seminars on the topic “Acoustic analysis of Speech Sounds of Ghanaian Languages using Praat” scheduled as follows:

Ensuring Effective Security and Safety at Hall of Residence, UEW

As part of our schedule to organize in-service training for staff of the University, the Division of Human Resource in collaboration with the Security Directorate is organizing a 2-day workshop for all Hall Assistants of the University of Education, Winneba campus on the topic: ‘Ensuring Effective Security and Safety at Hall of Residence, UEW.

International Mother Language Day Celebration

International Mother Language Day is an annual event which is held on the 21st of February every year. It aims at promoting awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity, multilingualism, and peaceful co-existence of diverse language speakers. It does not only aim to promote the use of mother tongue, but also the recognition of the need for co-existence of different languages and cultures.

2017/2018 2nd Semester Registration Deadline Extension

The 2017/2018 2nd Semester registration deadline has been extended to Friday 16th February 2018.

Students who are yet to register are to do so on or before the 16th of February 2018. This is the Final deadline for registration after which any student who fails to register will have to pay a late registration fine of GH20.00 per day.

All other guidelines pertaining to registration remain the same.

The programme offers relevant courses in the various fields of Geography. it focuses on improving understanding of the social, economic and environmental aspect of Geography, with the opportunity for students to take options from across physical, human and pratical Geography. Students are equipped to effectively teach Geography at the tertairy level, and are also provided with the relevant knowledge and skills that will enable them deal critically with issues in industry and other work setting.

MASTER OF PHILOSOPHY AND MASTER OF EDUCATION IN GEOGRAPHY

Applications are invited from qualified applicants for admission into the programme leading to the award of Master of Philosophy (full time) or Master of education (sandwich) in Geography

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the both programme, candidates must possess a good first degree in Geography or in a related discipline and must pass a selection interview.

Grooming the next generation of great debaters

The Intellectuals is an exciting and educative debate competition between University halls across Ghana. It hopes to groom the next generation of great debaters.

The reality programme would be broadcasted on major TV channels in the country. The show is being organised by Promptus Films Ltd. and will be launched on 8th March, 2018 in Accra.

The University, Simpa, Ghartey and Kwegir Aggrey halls of the University of Education, Winneba would be officially profiled from 9th - 10th February as participants of the "Intellectuals reality show".
