The Department of Graphic Design (DGD) at the University of Education, Winneba in Ghana is well positioned to deliver effectively on its mandated duties. Organized by the effective leadership of previous heads, the Department has not relented in its efforts towards the development of a creativity-driven community of students and staff committed to the active interrelationship of thoughts, procedures and praxis.

The Department of Theatre Arts, University of Education, Winneba is organizing a Vacation Theatre Arts Camp during this long vacation. It is an intensive but interactive training on the introductive aspect of performance (Acting, Scriptwriting, Directing, TV/Film Production etc.)

Seven (7) undergraduate students of the University of Education, Winneba have been awarded scholarships by Pent Asset and Wealth Management Limited as part of their corporate social responsibility to support the development of education in Ghana. The awards cover the payment of the tuition fees of the beneficiaries for the entire four years of their studies.
At its regular meeting held on 23rd February, 2018, the Chairman of the Academic Board apologized to the Board for the rigorous security checks they had to undergo before being given access to the Council Chamber. He explained that the security checks were unusual of Academic Board Meetings, however, it had been necessitated by a security threat posed by a member of the Governing Council, Dr. Samuel Ofori Bekoe, during the Council’s meeting held the previous day. Scores of students at the College of Technology Education, Kumasi (COLTEK) grabbed the opportunity offered through a special entrepreneurship programme in the College to learn the skills of producing various items including toiletries, detergents and local non-alcoholic drinks. The March 8, 2018 event, organised by the Information Technology Students Society (INFOTESS) was to complement efforts already started by officialdom to ensure that all students from COLTEK got some entrepreneurial training before completing their respective programmes.
The Faculty of Social Science Education of the University of Education, Winneba, (UEW) Presents The 5th Biennial Social Science Conference on the theme: “Education and National Development: Government, Universities, and Industry”. The Conference is under the Chairmanship of Rev. Fr. Prof. A. Afful-Broni, Acting Vice-Chancellor of UEW. The Keynote Speaker for the Conference is Prof. Yaw Ofosu-Kusi, former Dean, Faculty of Social Science Education.
The Gender Mainstreaming Directorate (UEW) in collaboration with Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG) – UEW and National Union of Ghana Students (UEW Chapter) organised a three-day event from 8th – 10th March, 2018 to mark the 2018 International Women’s Day (IWD).
The launching of this year’s IWD took place on Thursday March 8, 2018 under the theme “Igniting the Power of the 21st Century Ghanaian Woman Towards Nation Building” at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus.

The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 battled with the University of Education, Winneba in a debate for the topmost prize in the maiden edition of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE)’s 2018 Civic Challenge.
The motion for the debate was: “60 years after independence, does Ghana need foreign aid for its development?”
Following a report to the Academic Board on 23rd February, 2018 of a threat by Dr. Samuel Ofori Bekoe (a Senior lecturer at UEW) to the Chairman and Members of the Governing Council on 22nd February, 2018 and Academic Board’s unanimous condemnation of such gross misconduct, a 10-member delegation from the Academic Board led by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni paid a visit to the Paramount Chief of Effutu Traditional Council, Neenyi Ghartey VII to apologise.
Synopsis
You May Kiss the Corpse by Nii Commey, is a dramatic comedy that addresses very pertinent family and national issues bothering Ghanaians and Africans at large. The play brings to light; the attempt of extended family members trying to reap where they did not sow and the Ghanaian culture of spending extravagantly on funerals. Other pertinent issues pertaining to Ghanaians/African culture are projected and addressed in this dramatic piece in a hilarious manner for the audiences' relaxation.
