GRASAG-UEW Elected Executives for 2018/2019 Academic Year Sworn in

The University of Education, Winneba Chapter of Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana (GRASAG-UEW) on Friday, 31st August, 2018 swore in its elected executives for the 2018/2019 academic year at the Registrar’s Conference Room, North Campus, Winneba.

The Ceremony, chaired by the Registrar, Surv. Paul Osei-Barima Esq. on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor meant to legally dissolve the tenure of office of executives for the 2017/2018 academic year and usher into office executives for the 2018/2019 academic year.

UEW is a Dream Place to be – Fresh Students of 2018/2019 Academic Year

Fresh students for the 2018/2019 academic year have expressed their delight to be students of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) and touted it as a dream school to be.

The fresh students who arrived officially on Saturday, 1st September, 2018 are undergoing an Intensive Pre-academic Orientation which started on Monday, 3rd and is expected to end on Wednesday, 12th September, 2018.

Call for application: UNILEAD 2019

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Department of Continuing Education and Education Management (we.b) at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg in Germany are jointly organising the DIES University Leadership and Management Training Programme UNILEAD in Oldenburg, enabling young managers at higher education institutions in developing countries to tackle successfully every-day challenges.

“We are very Poised to Work with Ghana Police” – Vice-Chancellor

The Vice-Chancellor, Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni has said that the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) is very poised to work with Ghana Police Command and Staff College (GPCSC).

Not too long ago, a team from the Faculty of Social Sciences Education paid a courtesy visit to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to seek the possibility of establishing collaboration between the Centre for Conflicts, Human Rights and Peace Studies (CHRAPS) and the Ghana Police Service.

Distance Education not for Academically Weak or Desperate People – Prof. Francis Owusu-Mensah

Fresh Undergraduate, Postgraduate and International Distance Education students from the Southern Sector (Zone 1) have undergone a day’s Intensive Pre-Academic Orientation Programme at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre. The event, which took place on Saturday, 1st September, 2018 was organised by the Institute for Distance and e-Learning.

Let’s Embrace ‘Working Collaboratively’ to Achieve Results – Registrar

The Registrar, Surv. Paul Osei-Barima Esq. has urged Academic Heads to embrace working collaboratively in the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) to achieve the vision and mission of the University. 

He said to ensure  effectiveness in working collaboratively in UEW, one must have adequate knowledge of the policies, regulations and rules of UEW; the Act establishing UEW, Act 672; the Statutes of UEW; decisions of the Governing Council, Finance Committee, Academic Board as well as Appointments and Promotions Board.

The Gender Mainstreaming Directorate of the University of Education, Winneba in partnership with Rotaract-UEW/GRASAG/ Nobles/ Cama Ghana presents "Gender Week Celebration" from Tuesday, 9th October - Saturday, 13th October, 2018.

The theme for the celebration is “Gender Justice: Where are we now?”

UEW Academic Heads Urged to Collaboratively Exhibit Effective Leadership Skills

Academic Heads of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have been urged to collaborate and exhibit effective leadership skills that will have positive impact on the University.

UEW is the most populated University in Ghana and certainly one of the most effective Universities in the sub-region. Therefore, to advance in its successes, Management held an orientation for Deans, Directors and Heads of Department to share ideas and explore new and better ways of working within the institution.

"German Info Day" Programme

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), in collaboration with the German Unit of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Education and Communication, UEW, invites the University Community to the "German Info Day" scheduled as follows:

Financial Clearance and Verification for Continuing Students

Financial Verification and Clearance would be done from the 10th of September, 2018. Students would be required to drop off their fee payment receipts at their Faculty Accounts Office and report after 72 hours for verification chits.

Please note that the Online Registration exercise is NOT DEPENDENT on the Financial Clearance.

The Financial Clearance can be done after the Online Registration when you resume from the vacation.
