Faculty Block Renamed Faculty of Social Sciences Education

Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has officially renamed the Faculty Block at the University’s North Campus Faculty of Social Sciences Education.

This was made possible after members of the Faculty held a series of meetings with Management to consider giving the building a new name.

UEW Governing Council Chair Responds to Lawyer for Prof. Mawutor Avoke and Dr. Senyo Ackorlie

The Governing Council Chairman of the University of Education, Winneba, has responded to a letter by Harold Tivah Atuguba, lawyer for the two dismissed staff of the University - Prof. Mawutor Avoke and Dr. Senyo Ackorlie.

In the letter, the Chair stated unequivocally, that the decision to dismiss the two staff was purely "the decision of the Governing Council of the University and not at the instance of any court decision, directive or consequential orders".

Medical Examination For 2018/2019 First Year Students

The Medical Examination for First Year Students has officially been extended to Tuesday, 27th November, 2018 to mop up all missed appointments. First Year Students are encouraged to take advantage of this extension and report for this exercise to get the benefit of knowing their health status and more importantly to be Cleared for Student ID card.

Rusty Tweed Drug-Free Scholarship

The Rusty Tweed Drug-Free Scholarship was created to encourage the younger generation to pursue their dream of obtaining their degree.

This is the 2nd annual scholarship.

Senior High School Students that have been accepted into a College or a University and Current College and University Students are encouraged to apply.

UEW Launches Silver Jubilee Celebration

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Thursday, 15th November, 2018 launched its 25th Anniversary celebration at the forecourt of Administration Block, North Campus, Winneba. 

The launch, done under the theme “Sustaining Quality Education in Ghana through Effective Teacher Education: The Role of UEW”, was spiced with colourful musical and rich cultural displays by Departments of Music and Theatre Arts.

Vice-Chancellor interacts with Staff and Students of COLTEK

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education Winneba (UEW), Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni has said that he will be fully committed to promoting gender issues in the University during his three-year tenure. In that regard, he has challenged women in the University to strive for the highest ranks possible in UEW, stressing thus, “It is my avowed commitment to see at least 10 women achieve professorial ranks before my tenure comes to an end.”
