International Human Rights Day

The Centre for Conflict, Human Rights and Peace Studies (CHRAPS), UEW, in collaboration with Youth for Human Rights Africa presents International Human Rights Day. The theme for the occasion is Stand Up for Human Rights.

Social Work Students Visit Winneba Local Prison

Level 300 and Post Diploma 100 Students studying Social Work for the second semester of the Community Based Rehabilitation and Disability Studies Unit visited the Winneba Local Prison to learn about the responsibilities of the social worker.

The course, studied at the Department of Special Education (SPED) of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) is taught by Mrs. Florence Akua Mensah.

COLTEK Faculty Block named REYNOLDS OKAI BUILDING

Management, with the approval of the Governing Council of the University of Education Winneba (UEW) has named the impressive Faculty Block at the College of Technology Education, Kumasi (COLTEK) after late Prof. (Ing.) Reynolds Okai, the immediate past Principal of COLTEK.

The posthumous honouring is to celebrate the late Prof. Okai, under whose leadership, COLTEK, particularly, enjoyed some marked improvements in academic standards. He was instrumental in UEW establishing several gainful institutional collaborations in Ghana and abroad.

Newly Recruited Security Personnel Undergo Two-Week Intensive Training

Newly recruited security personnel for the Security Directorate of the University of Education Winneba (UEW) are undergoing a two-week intensive training programme at the University’s North Campus, Winneba.

The training, aimed at equipping the recruits with the requisite knowledge and skills to work adeptly as security officers as well as beef up the security force on campus started on Monday, 26th November and is expected to end on Friday, 7th December, 2018.

Department of Geography Education Holds Sensitisation Meeting for Its Students

The Department of Geography Education under the Faculty of Social Sciences Education on Monday, 26th November, 2018 held an end-of-semester sensitisation meeting with its students at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus, Winneba. This was part of efforts to inculcate a sense of discipline into the students with the ultimate aim of producing graduates who are aware of the dictates of their environment.
