Intensive Pre-Academic Orientation Programme for Fresh Regular Students | 2019/2020 Academic Year

The Office of the Dean of Student Affairs is organising an Intensive Pre-academic Orientation Programme (IPOP) for all Fresh Regular Undergraduate and Graduate Students for the 2019/2020 Academic Year. The programme commences from Tuesday, 10th and ends on Monday, 16th September, 2019.

We Value Staff and Students’ Welfare – Vice-Chancellor

The Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni has stated that the welfare of staff and students of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) is valuable to Management hence, the continuous provision, construction and upgrade of facilities.

He recounted some of the on-going projects on the campuses of the University to facilitate effective administrative and efficient academic work, particularly the construction of a 100-bed-state-of-the-art University hospital at Winneba to improve the delivery of health services.

The Coordinator for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes at the College of Technology Education, Kumasi (COLTEK) of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Dr. Humphrey Danso has assured the public of the high quality of programmes that UEW offers via its Sandwich and Distance Modes.

He reiterated that the quality of UEW’s Sandwich and Distance programmes were same as its highly competitive regular programmes.

Graduate Assistantship Handbook

Introduction

In 2007, the Academic Board of UEW approved a proposal for the appointment of Graduate Assistants in the various departments.

Though some departments have appointed Graduate Assistants who are helping in the teaching and research work of the departments, there is no document to guide their terms of engagement, hence the need to develop this hand book.

This book is intended to provide information about the various policies and procedures that are used for awarding graduate assistantship positions in UEW.

2019 Pupils’ Mathematics Camp Held

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW), as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility has fully funded a four-day Maths Camp for upper primary pupils in the Effutu Municipality. The Maths Camp, organised by the Department of Mathematics Education, took place at the Kwame Boadi Pavilion and the Assembly Hall both at the South Campus from Sunday, 11th to Wednesday, 14th August, 2019.
