Extension of Application Deadline for Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship Fund to Freshers

The Secretariat of the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship Fund for Brilliant But Needy Students wishes to inform the general university community that the deadline for applications has been extended to Friday, 18th October, 2019. This extension is however, applicable to ONLY fresh students. Fresh students are hereby encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity and apply.

Winneba Campus Hall Assistants Undergo Training

Hall Assistants on the Winneba Campus of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have undergone a one-day training workshop to improve their skills and competencies to enable them execute their duties properly and conscientiously.

The workshop, which was organised by Hall Managers of the University with support from the Division of Human Resource, took place on Thursday, 5th September, 2019 at the Registrar’s Conference Room, North Campus, Winneba.

27th National Conference of Ghana Music Teachers Association Held at UEW

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) in collaboration with the Centre for Research, Culture and Creative Arts (CeRCCA, UEW) has hosted the 27th Annual National Conference of Ghana Music Teachers Association (GMTA) under the theme “Transforming Ghana’s Educational System to Nurture Twenty-First Century Citizens: The Role of Creative Arts”.

Prof. (Mrs) Ruby Hanson Appointed as Acting Pro-Vice-Chancellor

The Management of the University of Education, Winneba has appointed Prof. (Mrs) Ruby Hanson, Dean of Faculty of Science Education, Winneba Campus as Acting Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University. The appointment takes immediate effect until a substantive Pro-Vice-Chancellor is appointed.

Prof. (Mrs) Ruby Hanson replaces Prof. J. K. Kagya-Agyemang who has been holding the fort for one and half years. This is to ensure that Prof. Kagya-Agyemang returns to Mampong Campus to fully take charge of the administration of the Campus as serving substantive Principal.

UEW Alumnus Spearheads Curriculum Reforms in Ghana

An alumnus of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Dr. Prince Hamidu Armah, the Executive Secretary of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), is spearheading Ghana’s educational transformation agenda. Dr. Prince Hamidu Armah has shown a thorough understanding of the Ghanaian educational system, articulated and offered very insightful contributions to addressing the inherent challenges there are, towards fulfilling the transformation agenda.

Mr. Francis Obeng assumes duty as Finance Officer of UEW

The Governing Council of the University of Education, Winneba on 4th July 2019 appointed Mr. Francis Obeng as the Finance Officer. Mr. Obeng officially assumed duty on 17th July, 2019, subsequently took permission, and fully assumed duty on Monday 2nd September, 2019.

He was conducted round some offices of the University by the Registrar, Surv. Paul Osei-Barima, Esq. He also took part in a training workshop on the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System currently ongoing at the University.
