Invitation to ITS Integrator 4.1 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System Training Workshop

The IT Services Directorate is pleased to invite The Finance Officer, The Deputy Registrar, Academic Affairs, all Deans and Heads of Department to the 2nd workshop on the ITS Integrator 4.1 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System. The focus of this workshop is to expose Student Records Office staff and Lecturers including Examination Officers to student assessment calculation criteria, class and examination timetabling, Lecturers iEnabler (online portals) and have an overview of the graduation process.

Observation of the 2019 African Universities Week

The Association of African Universities (AAU) is celebrating the 2019 African Universities Week from 11th to 15th November 2019 on the theme: "Towards a Peaceful and Secure Africa through Quality Higher Education".

The AAU is requesting Higher Education Institutions to plan and observe independent events on their respective campuses to mark the African Universities Week.

UEW Graduates 16,489 at 24th Congregation

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has graduated a total of 16,489 students at its 24th Congregation ceremonies held from Thursday, 17th to Saturday, 26th October, 2019 at the Winneba, Asante-Mampong and Kumasi Campuses of the University. 

Winneba and Ajumako Campuses graduated 9,005 students representing 55% whereas a total of 1,569 students representing 9% graduated from Asante-Mampong Campus while Kumasi Campus ended the ceremony with 5,915 graduates representing 36%.

Prof. Flolu Advocates for Further Discourse on Global Trends in Educational Reforms

An Associate Professor of Music and Music Education and former Principal, College of Technology Education (COLTEK), UEW, Prof. Emmanuel James Flolu has called on the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) to use the 25th Anniversary celebration to engage in further discourse on major government educational reforms within the context of global trends.

Chairman of UEW Council Calls for Financial Clearance for Staff Boost

The Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Prof. Obeng Mireku has appealed to the government to grant the University financial clearance to enable it increase its staff strength.

He stressed that the University continues to expand in both infrastructure and human resources to enable it cater for the increasing student population hence, the need to employ more staff, particularly academic staff to meet its increasing population.

The King Must Dance Naked

After the coronation of Omajuwa as crowned King in Ogbodume, the land is plagued by famine, drought and diseases. The cause is attributed to the inability of the King to procreate. The cause of the King’s inability to produce an heir-apparent is not known until Mejebi appears.

UTAG-UEW Executives Inducted into Office

Newly elected executive members of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG), University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Chapter have been inducted into office by the University Chaplain, Rev. Dr. Alexander Edwards.

The ceremony held on Sunday, 13th October, 2019 during an Interdenominational Church Service at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, officially unveiled the new executives of UTAG-UEW to members of the association as well as freshmen and continuing students of the University.

First Semester Theatre Productions Slated for Staging

TO HELL WITH THE BULWARK

 

The play tells a story of two young adults who have fallen deeply in love but face a hindrance from their respective families in making this love a reality due to the hatred that exists between the families. How will the young lovers overcome this barrier that is bound to break them apart?  This play is written by Gloria Amoah an immediate past playwriting student of the Department of Theatre Arts, University of Education, Winneba.
