A delegation from the Open Foundation West Africa has called on the Ag. College Registrar of the College of Languages Education, University of Education, Winneba, Mr. Osei-Bediako Appau to introduce the activities of the Foundation and to form the wiki translation club on the campus.

Faculty of Science and Environment Education Marks African Universities Week

The Dean of the Faculty of Science and Environment Education, University of Education, Winneba (Asante Mampong Campus), Dr. Richard A. Kuffour has announced the Faculty’s readiness to assist Basic School Science Teachers with their science experiments.

He made this announcement during a Mobile Laboratory Session and Environmental Campaigns with three basic schools in the Mampong Municipality to mark the African Universities Week Celebration on Tuesday, November 12, 2019.

COLTEK Gains Full Accreditation to run CBT Programmes under Ghana TVET Voucher Project

The Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (COTVET) has granted full accreditation to the College of Technology Education, Kumasi (COLTEK) to run Competency-Based Training (CBT) Programmes under the Ghana TVET Voucher Project (GTVP).

This makes COLTEK of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) the only university in the country with the privilege to run programmes under the GTVP.

NOTICE OF ELECTION OF PRO-VICE-CHANCELLOR

Members of staff may recall that the Pro-Vice-Chancellor’s election which was scheduled for Friday, 14th June, 2019 had to be postponed indefinitely due to a court injunction.

Following the Court’s ruling today, 18th November, 2019, dismissing the application as unmeritorious, Management of UEW hereby wishes to inform the University Community of new arrangements for the Pro-Vice-Chancellor’s election.

Faculty of Educational Studies Interacts with its PhD Students

The Dean of Faculty of Educational Studies (FES), Prof. Samuel Hayford on Friday, 8th November, 2019 held a breakfast meeting with PhD students of the Faculty to brief them on strategies and techniques to enable them complete their programmes successfully and on time.

The meeting, which took place at the North Campus, was attended by PhD students offering Educational Administration and Management, Guidance and Counselling and Special Education.

UEW Management Committed to Professional Development

Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Tuesday, 5th November, 2019 held the maiden professional development conference for Members of Convocation on the four Campuses of the University. 

The conference, which took place at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, was to inform Convocation Members about the need to take passionate action steps through sustained professional development in order to revitalise their teaching or administrative career.

University Hall Undertakes Maiden National Sanitation Exercise

The Management of University Hall in collaboration with the Hall Executives on Saturday, 2nd November, 2019 undertook a clean-up exercise to mark the National Sanitation Day. The exercise saw the full participation of both staff and students in the hall cleaning gutters, scrubbing the washrooms as well as weeding in and around the hall.

Latter-Day Saint Charities Supports UEW Resource Centre for Students with Special Needs

The Latter-Day Saint Charities on Friday, 1st November, 2019 donated 25 sets of refurbished computers and headphones and two computerized Braille Embossers to the Resource Centre for Students with Special Needs of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).  

The donation was to equip the Resource Centre with the needed equipment to enhance teaching and learning as well as aid students with special needs in their studies.
