According to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Andy Ofori-Birikorang, UEW occasionally honours citizens and international figures who have contributed adeptly to the course of humanity hence, the reason to offer the Third Gentleman of the land an honorary doctorate degree.

The Department of History Education, University of Education, Winneba is inviting contributions from interested researchers and academics to an edited volume provisionally titled "Education in Ghana: History, Policy and the Future". The book is scheduled to be published in late 2020 or early 2021. The book will be co-edited by:

As part of a 3-year research project on ‘Exploring Visual Cultures’, an eight-member team of researchers and lecturers from the University of Education, Winneba visited Germany and Italy from November 10th – 18th, 2019. The essence of the visit, amongst others, was to explore the visual culture milieu of Germany and Italy, and attend a symposium at the Academy of Fine Art University in Germany to present image-based research papers on the said project.

The Dean, School of Creative Arts of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Dr. Patrique deGraft-Yankson has attended the first International Conference, Workshop and Meeting of UNESCO Chairs from 2nd to 4th December, 2019 in Wuppertal, Germany.
The purpose of the conference which was to exchange information, experiences and strengthen possibilities of collaboration among UNESCO Chairs was held under the theme, ‘Linking Education, Transdisciplinarity and International Partnership’.

He advocated for allocation of seats to women who would like to contest for elections and urged political parties to reserve a quota for women to encourage their participation in politics and governance.
The Faculty of Science and Environment Education, Asante-Mampong Campus in collaboration with Asanko Gold Ghana Limited has observed the 2019 World Toilet Day at the Esaase Bontefufuom Senior High School in the Amansie West District in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
This year’s World Toilet Day was celebrated under the theme “Clean hands for all; Living no one behind”. The day has been earmarked to promote health and education through hand hygiene and behaviour change.
A total of 136 students from COLTEK of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have been awarded scholarships by the Newmont Akyem Development Foundation (NAkDeF), a subsidiary of Newmont Gold Corps (formerly Newmont Ghana Limited).

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Gomoa West, Hon. Bismark Baisie Nkum has revealed his outfit’s intention to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) to formalise and strengthen relationship between both parties.
He hinted that his outfit had identified gaps in the education system of Gomoa West which needed to be addressed as quickly as possible to improve the academic prowess of teachers and pupils in the District; hence, the necessity for the MoU.
