All fresh students on the regular programmes who could not report or complete the medical examinations are being given a final chance to be medically examined.

The mop-up medical examinations are scheduled as follows:

Team UEW Presents GUSA Trophies and Medals to Management

The sports team that represented the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) at the just ended Ghana Universities Sports Association Games (GUSA) has today, Thursday, 13th February, 2020 presented trophies and medals won at the competition to Management. 

The team won five trophies and 43 medals in total consisting 15 gold, 11 silver and 17 bronze to place second out of 11 participating public universities at the 2020 GUSA games held at the University of Ghana, Legon from Friday, 3rd January to Sunday, 19th January, 2020.

UEW Credit Union Institutes Chairman of Council’s Award Scheme

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Cooperative Credit Union Limited has introduced the Chairman of Council’s Award Scheme to sponsor three graduating students every year.

The award comprises Best Graduating Student for the School of Business in Winneba, Best Graduating Student for Faculty of Business Education in Kumasi and Best Graduating Female Student at Asante-Mampong campus.

Election of Convocation Representatives on UEW Governing Council

The term of office of the Convocation Representatives on UEW Governing Council will come to an end on February 29, 2020.  Section 8 (1) of the University of Education Act (672) provides that: “Every member of the Council except the Vice-Chancellor and Principals shall hold office for a period of two years and is eligible for re-appointment’.  As a result, four (4) vacancies have been created in the Convocation slots on Council.  Elections will therefore be organised on all Campuses.

The 26th Edition of Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) games held at the University of Ghana, Legon would continue to linger in the memories of many sports enthusiasts. The sixteen-day event under the theme, "Integrating Sports into Academia for Youth Empowerment and Development" saw record breaking and sterling performances from the University of Education, Winneba's (UEW) team.

Prof. Yankah Lauds UEW Management for Infrastructural Development Towards Admitting free SHS Students

The Minister of State in Charge of Tertiary Education, Prof. Kwesi Yankah has lauded Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) for investing judiciously in infrastructural development with Internally Generated Funds (IGF).   

He congratulated the University for equipping itself to admit and accommodate large numbers of the first batch of Free Senior High School (SHS) graduates who will be seeking for admission into tertiary institutions come September 2020.

UEW Newsletter now Interactive

The Department of Publishing and Web Development of the Division of Publications and Communication is introducing an interactive version of the UEW Newsletter on a quarterly basis. The interactive Newsletter provides teasers of recent news items with read more buttons which point to full news items on the University's website. While the interactive newsletter is downloadable, it also provides a link to download the respective quarter in full.
