Nomination of Peer Educators

The HIV/AIDS Unit of the University of Education, Winneba is requesting all Academic Departments and Units to recommend two (2) level 100 students who are committed and willing to serve as Peer Educators for their outfits.

A Peer Educator is a trained student who educates, teaches, or shares health information, values, and behaviour as a means of preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS as well as other Sexually Transmitted Diseases, especially in this COVID-19 era.

Signing and Launching of MoU between University of Education Winneba and SHAPE Attitude Ghana

It is announced for the information of Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, and the entire University Community that memorandum of understanding will be signed between the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) and SHAPE Attitude Ghana. The programme is scheduled as follows:

Online Registration of Courses for Fresh and Continuing Postgraduate Students

The School of Graduate Studies wishes to inform all fresh and continuing postgraduate students that they are required to register their first semester courses for the 2020/2021 academic year latest by Friday, February 26, 2021.

Any fresh postgraduate student who fails to register his/her courses online by the said date will not be considered as a student and will not also be matriculated.

Continuing Top-up students are also reminded to register for only the Top-up courses mounted in their Department.

Yoleg in Partnership with Department of Geography Education Observes World Wetlands Day

A Non-Governmental Organisation with the vision to spearhead development through research, Youth Legacy Ghana (Yoleg) in partnership with the Department of Geography Education under the Faculty of Social Sciences Education (FSSE), has organised Ghana Wetlands Sustainability Conference, 2021, to mark World Wetlands Day celebration.

The colloquium, which took place at the School of Creative Arts Conference Room, on Tuesday, 16th February, 2021, was held under the theme, “Wetlands and Water – Inseparable Vitals for Life”.

Adherence to COVID-19 Protocols

It has come to the notice of management that some students or groups of students of the University of Education, Winneba continue to breach the directives of the President of the Republic of Ghana on the COVID-19 safety management protocols by engaging in all kinds of unapproved socialisation activities such as organising keep-fit sessions at the beach in blatant disregard for the COVID-19 safety management measures.

The Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni has affirmed that the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has been ranked among the best universities in the country. 

He stated that his administration had shown leadership and brought to testament the avowed belief that knowledge nurtured at UEW would become a source of enlightenment and empowerment to all peoples of contemporary and future society.

UEW Farm to be Transformed into a Centre of Excellence for Agri-foods Research

The new Manager of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Farm, Mr. Kwame Ayisi Lartey has disclosed his intention to transform the University farm into a Centre of Excellence for agri-foods research and technology education.  

He added that he would endeavour to make UEW Farm a reliable supply chain of quality and affordable food products for the University community.    

The Farm Manager revealed this in an interview he granted to the Department of Media Relations at his office.

Registration of Semester Courses for Freshmen/Freshwomen for 2020/2021 Academy Year

As part of preparations toward the 2020/2021 matriculation ceremony all freshmen/freshwomen are expected to register their courses for the first semester of the 2020/2021 academic year latest by Monday, 15th February 2021.

Any Freshman/Freshwoman who fails to register his/her courses by the said date will not be allowed to matriculate during the official ceremony.

ITECPD Equips Mentors for the School Internship Programme

The Institute for Teacher Education and Continuing Professional Development (ITECPD), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has organised a week-long intensive workshop for trained and untrained mentors for the School Internship Programme (SIP). 

The workshop, under theme: “Training and Retraining Mentors for the School Internship Programme”, took place from Monday, 8th to Saturday, 13th February, 2021, at Windy Lodge Hotel, Winneba.
