The Academic Board, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has approved the proposal to transform the Department of Communication and Media Studies (CMS) under the Faculty of Foreign Languages Education and Communication into the School of Communication and Media Studies (SCMS).
The University community is hereby informed that the level 100 - 300 course registration exercise has not begun.
A date for the registration would be communicated on Wednesday, 30th June 2021.
A level 400 Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) student majoring in Accounting at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Mr. Justice Phinehas Gyesi, is making great strides at entrepreneurship.
Spurred on by an innate passion for entrepreneurship and guided by his academic area of studies, Justice Gyesi set up his business enterprise, Jephinko Ventures, and registered it at the Registrar General’s Department on Monday, 24th February, 2020. He currently runs most of his business activities online.
The Department of Geography Education, University of Education, Winneba joined hands with the Effutu Municipal Forestry Commission to celebrate the ‘Green Ghana Day’, a day set aside to plant five million trees across the country in a bid to curb global warming.

The University community is hereby notified that the Governing Council of the Unversity, at its meeting held on 31st May 2021, approved the Academic Board's proposal to upgrade the Institute for Distance and e-Learning, (IDeL) to a college status. Thus, effective 31st May 2021, IDeL assumed a college status with the name College for Distance and e-Learning (CODeL).
However, until otherwise indicated, correspondence, documents, and records in the name of the Institute remain valid.
The University community is to take note of the change and act accordingly.
The Effutu Municipal Assembly has notified the University that the Ghana Statistical Service has deployed Field Officers to various communities for the 2021 population and housing census. The Field Officers have been deployed from 13th June 2021 to 11th July 2021.
In view of this, members of the University community are hereby notified that Census Enumerators are at work. We are therefore entreated to cooperate with these Field Officers and offer them the necessary support to make this important national exercise successful.
The Division of Human Resource (HR), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), in collaboration with the Retirees’ Send-Off Planning Committee, has organised a two-day intensive training workshop for Senior Members, Senior and Junior Staff, who will be retiring from active service in September 2021.
The workshop, which was held from Tuesday, 15th to Wednesday, 16th June, 2021, at the Registrar’s Conference Room, North Campus, Winneba, was aimed at orienting retirees on the benefits of retirement and to prepare them well for their retirement.

As part of their activities for the 2021 academic year, the Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), organised a research seminar under the theme: “Critical Issues in Conducting Educational Research” for its members.
The seminar, which took place on Wednesday, 9th June, 2021, at Central Campus, primarily aimed at helping members appreciate the core issues in conducting research.
The Department of Music Education, University of Education, Winneba is organizing a Vacation Music Camp during this long vacation.
It is an eight-week intensive preparation in Rudiments and Theory of Music combined with practical music-making activities.

The Centre for African Studies (CAS), of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), an interdisciplinary research and teaching centre with a focus on building knowledge on Africa, has organised a one-day seminar to deliberate on issues in education as a pathway to Africa integration.
This was part of activities to mark the African Union (AU) Day. The seminar brought together academics, students and other persons interested in the development of Africa.
The Department of Theatre Arts, University of Education, Winneba is organizing a Vacation Theatre Arts Camp during this long vacation.
It is intensive but interactive training on the introductive aspect of performance (Acting, Scriptwriting, Directing, TV/Film Production etc.)
