Management cuts sod for the Construction of Graduate School Building

Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has cut sod at the Faculty enclave in North Campus for the construction of a purpose-built structure for the School of Graduate Studies (SGS).   

The construction of the Graduate School Complex is part of conscious efforts by the Management of UEW to strengthen and expand graduate studies, mentoring of graduate students in research and output and generally provide a conducive environment for both staff and students by upgrading infrastructure and resources to international standards.

GUSSS Holds Stakeholders Meeting

The Ghana Universities Staff Superannuation Scheme (GUSSS), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has held a meeting to present to its members the Financial Reports as of 31st March, 2021 and status of GUSSS.

The meeting held at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Auditorium, North Campus, Winneba, highlighted the 2021 Annual Budget and Operating Plans of the scheme as reviewed by the Management Board and approved by the University Council.

Beneficiaries of the Vice-Chancellor Scholarship Fund 2020/2021 Renewal

The Management Board of the UEW Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship Fund is pleased to announce to the University community that per the recommendations received from the Scholarship Committee, the Board has approved the first batch of the renewal of the VCSF  to the under-listed students who submitted their results or transcripts for the scholarship in the 2020/2021 academic year. 

The committee would like to inform beneficiaries who are yet to provide their academic transcripts to do so accordingly for their renewal.

2021 Point Mass Registration and Distribution of Treated Bednet

The University has been informed that the Ghana Health Service, together with its Partners, is embarking on a house to house registration and point mas distribution of insecticidal bednets to households in the Effutu Municipality. The goal of the programme is to protect at least 80% of the population with effective malaria intervention in line with the National Strategic Plan 2021 - 2025.

Mode of Teaching and Learning for 2020/2021 Sandwich Session

The management of the University of Education, Winneba has approved that the mode of teaching and learning for the 2020/2021 Sandwich Session should be shifted from wholly online to a blended mode of teaching and learning. This means that the Sandwich Students will report on campus on the 11th September 2021 and leave the campus on 30th October 2021.

Security Workshop

The Division of Human Resource in collaboration with the Security Services Directorate is organizing a 5-day (two sessions) workshop to train Security personnel within Ajumako and Winneba Campuses.

The Workshop is to update, upgrade and sharpen their competencies to enable them to improve upon their performances. The workshop is scheduled as follows:

ITECPD Interacts with Stakeholders to Implement GESI Policy

The Institute for Teacher Education and Continuing Professional Development (ITECPD), has organised a day’s meeting with stakeholders for the implementation of the National Teacher Education Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) policy.    

The stakeholders comprised members from Transforming Teaching, Education, and Learning (T-TEL) and some departments in the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), namely Gender Mainstreaming Directorate, Department of Special Education (SPED) and Department of Basic Education.
