Cultural Week Celebration | 2022 Edition

The Faculty of Ghanaian Languages Education invites the University Community to the 2022 Edition of their Cultural Week celebration scheduled as follows:

2022 THEME:  “Living in a Multilingual Setting: The Role of the Ghanaian Language Teacher”.

Keynote Speaker:  Dr. Paul K. Agbedor (Department of Linguistics, University of Ghana, Legon).

UEW Graduates 10,314 Students at Second Session of 26th Congregation

A total of 10,314 students have graduated at the Second Session of the 26th Congregation of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) held at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus, Winneba, from Tuesday, April 26  to Saturday, April 30, 2022.

Out of the total figure, 2,575 students representing 24.97%, were awarded diplomas, 6,887 students representing 66.77% obtained bachelor's degrees while 852 students representing 8.26% received various postgraduate degrees.

SCMS Strengthens Quality Research Supervision and Assessment

The School of Communication and Media Studies (SCMS), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has organised a day’s training to promote quality supervision and assessment of research for faculty members.

The workshop, which took place in the SCMS Seminar Room at the South Campus, expanded participants' knowledge of the supervisor's role in conceptualising the research problem and designing the research inquiry; internal and external assessors' expectations for thesis assessment; and supervisor-student relationship in thesis supervision.

We Shall Consciously Uphold the Provisions of the UEW Statutes to Promote Fairness – Vice-Chancellor Pledges

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mawutor Avoke, has pledged management’s commitment to consciously upholding the provisions of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Statutes to promote fairness and equity in the University.  

He emphasised his conviction that the University must harness and manage all of its potential and resources for the common benefit of all by bringing all members of the community on board, asking all stakeholders to work together to advance the University.

2021/2022 Fresh Visually Impaired Students of UEW Undergo Orientation at Braille Library

The University of Education, Winneba's (UEW) Braille Library, North Campus, Winneba, hosted an orientation for fresh visually impaired students for the 2021/2022 academic year.

The students were exposed to how to access the diverse equipment at the Braille Library to improve their studies and stay relevant at the University.

The Office of Dean of Student Affairs (ODSA) is assisting the Central Regional Secretariat of the National Service Scheme in organising a One-Day National Service Orientation exercise for all the final year students and/or prospective National Service Persons of the University of Education, Winneba.

UEW Formalises Mentorship Agreement with Savanna College of Education

The Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Tuesday, 12th April, 2022, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Savanna College of Education, Daboya, at the Council Chamber, North Campus, UEW.  

The signing of the MoU formalises the collaborative arrangements between the two institutions to roll out a four-year Basic Education degree programme with options in Early Grade Education, Upper Primary Education, and Junior High Education.

Simpa Hall Hauls Nine Trophies at Annual Inter-Hall Games

The Custodians of Simpa Hall have swept nine trophies out of a possible 12 at the just-ended annual inter-hall games held at the North Campus Sports Complex, University of Education, Winneba (UEW).   

The Hall, named after the Winneba Township Simpa, won both men's and women's volleyball and basketball, women's soccer, women's table tennis, men's handball, men's goalball, and women's netball.
