Gender Mainstreaming Directorate Holds Leadership Seminar

The Gender Mainstreaming Directorate, in association with the Local National Union of Ghana Students (L-NUGS) Women's Commission and the GRASAG Gender Commission, has hosted a one-day colloquium for student leaders and staff of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).

The conference, which took place at the North Campus Mini-Conference Room on Thursday, 19th May, 2022, was under the theme “Journey to Leadership in the 21st Century: Overcoming Biases and Stereotypes”.

Celebration of the 2022 African Union Day

The African Union Day is celebrated every 25th day of May as an occasion to promote the African Union, its activities and the development of Africa in general across the continent.

The Centre for African Studies (CAS) of the University of Education, Winneba as an interdisciplinary research and teaching centre with a focus on building knowledge on Africa would spearhead this years’ celebration on the theme “Strengthening Resilience in Nutrition and Food Security in Ghana”.

UEW Prospective Service Persons Urged to Build Sustainable Networks with Superiors

The Central Regional Administrator of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Mr. Daniel Dawuso, has entreated all final year students of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) to build strong social networks wherever they are posted for their one-year mandatory service to the nation.

He advised them not to work in isolation but rather expose themselves to the new environment and network with the people in the community.

UEW Hosts 2022 ISSER Roadshow

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW), was the centre of attraction as it hosted the 2022 Institute of Statistical Social and Economic Research (ISSER) roadshow dubbed "harnessing stakeholder engagement and feedback for research impact".

The event, organised by the Faculty of Social Science Education (FSSE), UEW, in collaboration with the College of Humanities, University of Ghana (UG), Legon, was held at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus on Wednesday, May 11, 2022.

UEW to Partner University of Virginia

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) is poised to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, USA, to develop joint research programmes that are relevant to contemporary education.

The University of Education, Winneba is excited to work with the University of Virginia on staff exchange, academic resources and publications exchange, study abroad, and undergraduate and postgraduate student exchange programmes.

2022 CoLANG Cultural Week Celebration Held

Every year, the College of Languages Education (CoLANG), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), dedicates a week to showcasing Ghanaian culture to the rest of the world to highlight Ghana’s unity in cultural diversity.

This year’s ceremony took place at the Ajumako Campus of the University from Wednesday, May 4, through Saturday, May 7, 2022. It was under the theme “Living in a multilingual setting: the role of the Ghanaian Language teacher”.

Procedure for Change of Name

Management has noticed with concern the increasing request from staff for change of name without the necessary supporting documents.

We therefore wish to inform the University Community that change of official name in the records of the University cannot be done without proper procedure.

Staff are hereby informed that if anyone wishes to change his or her name, the person is advised to gazette the intended change of the official name as known to the University.
