ODSA Holds Orientation for Norwegian Students

The Office of the Dean of Student Affairs (ODSA), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has held a day’s Intensive Pre-academic Orientation Programme (IPOP) for six Norwegian students.  

The IPOP, held in collaboration with the Centre for International Programmes (CIP), UEW, at the ODSA Conference Room, North Campus, UEW, was meant to facilitate the entry of the six students from the Oslo Metropolitan University in Norway into the UEW community.

UEW Clinic Makes Modest Strides

Medical staff at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Clinic have had a breakthrough by successfully carrying out three surgeries at the facility. The team successfully performed two breast surgeries and a twin hernia repair. This is the first of its kind in over a decade and the first time multiple surgeries have been performed in a single day at the facility.

Service Persons Urged to Work Towards the UEW Goal

A Deputy Registrar at the Division of Academic Affairs, Mrs. Ekua Abedi-Boafo, has entreated National Service Personnel (NSP) posted to the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), to work collectively with the staff of the institution to realise the university’s goal. 

She was addressing personnel at a one-day orientation organised by the Division of Human Resource (DHR) for the 2022–2023 academic year of NSP posted to the UEW. It was held at the Jophus Anamuah Conference Centre.

“We are Committed to Providing Quality Distance Education” – Ag. Principal

The Ag. Principal of the College for Distance and e-Learning (CODeL), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Prof. Frimpong Kaakyire Duku, has indicated his outfit’s commitment to providing top-notch distance education for students to achieve their lifelong personal and educational goals.

He emphasised that distance learning gives students the chance to balance employment, family life, and education, but he was quick to point out that to succeed, it requires a lot of discipline and effort on the part of the students.

UEW Clinic Operates 24-Hour Healthcare – Ag. Director

The Ag. Director of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Clinic, Dr. John Kanyiri Yambah, has revealed that his outfit is now open for 24-hour, seven days in a week health care services to the University Community and its surroundings.

Dr. Yambah explained that the move was in fulfillment of the University’s contributions to satisfying the health targets of Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3), meeting universal health coverage, and enhancing service delivery to staff, students, and neighbouring Communities.

UEW Hosts 2023 IUCDS Seminar

The Inter-University Conference for Doctoral Studies (IUCDS), in collaboration with the School of Graduate Studies (SGS), University of Education Winneba (UEW), has organised a three-day seminar at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus, UEW.  

The seminar, which took place from Tuesday, 17th, to Thursday, 19th January, 2023, was held on the theme "Promoting Staff Development Through Collaborative Research and Quality Teaching in Education."

Music Scholars Entreated to Prioritise Honing Their Skills

A music theorist, Emeritus Prof. Kofi Agawu has urged lecturers and students of music to prioritise developing their skills as musicians to increase their reputation in the musical arts.

Emer. Prof. Agawu said this at a day’s seminar organised by the Department of Music Education, University of Education, Winneba at the School of Creative Arts (SCA) Conference Room, Central Campus. The seminar was held under the theme “Creating Dynamic Intellectual Connections Towards Collaborative Research in the Musical Arts”.

ODSA-UEW Holds IPOP 2022/2023 for Fresh Regular Students

The Office of the Dean of Student Affairs (ODSA), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has organized a four-day Intensive Pre-Academic Orientation Programme (IPOP) for fresh undergraduate and postgraduate students of the 2022–2023 academic year.

The programme, which took place simultaneously at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre for undergraduate students and the School of Creative Arts Theatre for postgraduate students, offered participants first-hand information on extensive range of topics and opportunities to facilitate their academic pursuits at UEW.
