Geography Department Embarks on series of Educational Trips

The Department of Geography Education has embarked on a series of educational trips as part of their courses of study in the 2016/17 academic year. The trips were organised to deepen the understanding of students on issues discussed in class and to help students acquire practical experience of their courses pursued.

CAMFED-UEW Marks CAMA Week

A two-day seminar has been organised by the Gender Mainstreaming Directorate for beneficiaries of the CAMFED-MasterCard Scholarship and Vodafone Scholarship. The Seminar which formed part of activities to mark the maiden edition of CAMA week celebration was held from Wednesday, 29th March, 2017 to Thursday, 30th March, 2017.

CAMA is the UEW branch of the Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED) Association. It is made up of all the beneficiaries of the CAMFED scholarship.

Human Resource Organises Training for Senior Assistant Registrars and Assistant Registrars on Grammar, Punctuation and Proofreading

The Division of Human Resource has organised a one-day training on the theme “use of grammar, punctuation and proofreading: ensuring professional presentations for Senior Members of the Registrar’s Office (Senior Assistant Registrars and Assistant Registrars)” on Winneba Campus on 27th March, 2017.

Department of Art Education Donates to UTV

The Department of Art Education of the University of Education, Winneba has donated three mural paintings to Universal Television (UTV), in recognition of its contributions to the promotion of arts-oriented programmes for national development.

The three murals titled, Adekye Nsoroma, Power in communication and The Weaves of Beauty are to serve as set designs for UTV’s famous morning show dubbed ‘Adekye Nsoroma’. The designs have high Ghanaian aesthetic content that differs from Eurocentric concept of aesthetics.

Ghana Home Economics Association Marks World Home Economics Day

The Ghana Home Economics Association has joined the world in marking World Home Economics Day with a workshop held at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre at the University of Education, Winneba on 21st March, 2017. The workshop was organised to promote the International Federation of Home Economics and the Home Economics profession.

FASU Committee Appoints Steve van Kamassah as Member

The Deputy Registrar in-charge of the Division for Publications and Communication at the University of Education, Winneba, Steve van Kamassah, has been appointed to serve on the Federation of Africa University Sports (FASU) Committee for Marketing, Strategic Partnership, Media and Communication (CMSPMC) for a period of two years (March 2017 to March 2019).

The appointment was conveyed in a letter signed by FASU President, Dr. Malumbete Ralethe, dated January 1, 2017 indicating the roles and responsibilities of the committee.
