COMPUTER SYSTEMS AND APPLICATIONS IN EDUCATION

Course description:

This course is an introductory course in computer applications. It provides students with a strong background in the use of computers and serves to meet the general computer literacy requirement. The course provides practical skills in various ways to incorporate technology into the student’s personal educational program as well as integrating instructional technology into classroom. Materials will aid students in development and application of Intern al International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards in the classroom setting. It will provide instructions from basic to more advanced computer technologies. The class will be conducted in practical ways. Students will use computers, printers, scanners, digital cameras, camcorders, web cams and other multimedia technologies to carry out projects. Students will identify appropriate problems and design solutions, using specific applications packages.
