Be committed and dedicated to your work – HR tells UEW National Service personnel

A training seminar has been held for national service personnel in UEW by the Division of Human Resources at the J. N. Aryeetey Auditorium on 8th October, 2016.

The seminar brought together one hundred and fifty seven national service personnel from the various departments in UEW, paved way for service personnel to actively interact with the Division of Human Resources and also channel their grievances through the division to appropriate authorities for the necessary steps to be taken in resolving them.

Welcoming the service personnel to the University working terrain, the Deputy Registrar, Institute of Educational Research and Innovation Studies, IERIS, Mr. William Agyei-Bieni, who represented the Registrar of UEW, Dr. C .Y. Akwaa-Mensah, used his life experience as a national service personnel to advice the personnel and encouraged them to inculcate the “I can do it” attitude and again be committed to their work.

The Senior Assistant Registrar in charge of Junior and Senior Staff Unit, Mr. Augustus K. Brew, presenting on the topic “The Role of the National Service Personnel”, implore the personnel to be committed, dedicated and exhibit selflessness in their service delivery to the university. He added that the personnel ought to align their expectations with reality, challenge themselves to accomplish their dreams and above stay focused on their duties and service to the university and Ghana at large. He again encouraged them to evaluate and take advantage of anything that can be helpful for their cause and eschew negative opportunities.

The Employee Relations Officer, Mrs. Irene Ofosu-Behome, advised the personnel to be punctual and ensure good interpersonal communication in the discharge of their duties.
