CAGRIC to Embark on Milk Production Project for Yoghurt Making
The Ag. Vice-Chancellor has lauded the efforts of the College of Agriculture Education (CAGRIC) in implementing a project on milk production for yoghurt making. He informed Matriculants at the 2018 Sandwich Matriculation of the Asante-Mampong campus on Saturday, 11th August, 2018 that the College produces very nutritious fresh yoghurt at the Yoghurt House of the College.
Commissioning of the Yoghurt House
The Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Education, Winneba, Prof. Emmanuel Nicholas Abekah together with the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani, Prof. Harrison Kwame Dapaah (also the immediate past Principal of the College of Agriculture Education) had earlier cut the tape to commission the new Yoghurt House on Thursday 26th April, 2018 at the College of Agriculture Education, Asante Mampong.

The Ag. Pro Vice-Chancellor (UEW) and Principal of the College, Prof. James K. Kagya-Agyemang said, “this beautiful edifice we see here today started as research collaboration between UEW, CAGRIC, Egerton University in Kenya and Obafemi University in Nigeria”. One of the components of the project was to raise zero grazing cattle to enable produce milk in larger quantities for supply within and beyond Mampong Municipal.
New Yoghurt House at CAGRIC
According to Prof. J. K. Kagya-Agyemang, the College started a micro project on milk production by use of these zero grazing cattle. The College realised its numerous financial benefits and decided to produce on commercial basis. The former Principal, Prof. Harrison Kwame Dapaah commenced the Project.
The Commissioning ceremony was graced by members of the UEW Governing Council, invited guests, convocation members and staff of the College.
