The Rt. Honourable Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, His Excellency Dr. Sidie Mohamed Tunis, in his remarks, asserted that Winneba was a very strategic place to have been, the first town away from the capital city of a country to host the ECOWAS Parliament.

“I was telling my colleagues that the actual purpose for the creation of ECOWAS is what we have just established in Winneba. That is, bring the ECOWAS to the people. Integrate more with the people because the whole idea is that if we came here with at least 100 members, it’s supposed to have an impact on tourism; it’s supposed to have an impact on the local economy and that is what we have achieved,” he affirmed.
