FASU Committee Appoints Steve van Kamassah as Member

The Deputy Registrar in-charge of the Division for Publications and Communication at the University of Education, Winneba, Steve van Kamassah, has been appointed to serve on the Federation of Africa University Sports (FASU) Committee for Marketing, Strategic Partnership, Media and Communication (CMSPMC) for a period of two years (March 2017 to March 2019).

The appointment was conveyed in a letter signed by FASU President, Dr. Malumbete Ralethe, dated January 1, 2017 indicating the roles and responsibilities of the committee.

The Committee was established to make concrete proposals to the FASU Executive Committee on how to innovate and create new strategic alliances in the media. It also assists FASU in developing a better understanding of modern technology and the huge potential for university sport stakeholders to forge global and national partnerships.

The CMSPMC Committee is ultimately responsible for all matters relating to media and international media cooperation, as well as, investigating new supporting technologies and media platforms to strengthen the university sports community.

Mr. Kamassah was appointed on the basis of his commitment as Registrar’s representative in helping the national association, Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) re-brand to take advantage of the enormous sponsorship potential from local and international organizations.

Also, his appointment was based on his rich experiences in participating in sports as an active member of the University of Ghana 1992 Basketball team.

The management of the University of Education, Winneba has subsequently congratulated and wished him success in his new role.
