FSE Launches UEW Chapter of Ghana Science Association
The Faculty of Science Education (FSE) on Tuesday, 16th August, 2022, inaugurated the University of Education, Winneba Chapter of the Ghana Science Association (UEW-GSA) at South Campus, UEW.
The GSA, since its establishment, has been helping to promote the carrier development of scientists at universities and research institutes in Ghana and beyond. With the exception of UEW up until this point, it had branches at all of the universities in Ghana.
Prof. John K. Eminah, Chairman for the ceremony, expressed delight that UEW finally had its own branch to avoid the hassle of travelling to the University of Cape Coast (UCC) for gatherings, activities, and conferences.
Faculty members and the newly elected executives after the ceremony
"Initially, we were affiliated to the University of Cape Coast (UCC), but now the stress of going to UCC will be no more. I believe after this inauguration; we won't be travelling to UCC for association-related fundamental business," he said.
Prof. Eminah advised the UEW Branch executives and members to participate in all GSA activities and offer the organisation their very best efforts.
"Do your best to take an active part in the association’s activities, because ideas are always fertilised by what you bring out. Note also that, as scientists, you need to exhibit peculiar traits such as persistence, ingenuity, patience, and hard work," he admonished.
