GhanaPost Donates to UEW Endowment Trust Fund

The Management of Ghana Post Company Limited has presented a cheque of Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢10,000) to authorities of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) towards the University’s Endowment Trust Fund.

The presentation coincided with the duty tour of the Managing Director of the company, Mr. James Kwofie, to the central region. Mr. Kwofie led his team to pay a courtesy call on the University and to honour an appeal to support UEW’s Endowment Trust Fund. The event took place at the Office of the Registrar, North Campus, UEW-Winneba.

Mr. Kwofie said that the amount was Ghana Post Company Limited’s widow’s mite to UEW’s Endowment Trust Fund which is aimed at building the capacity of the University to continue to grow  critical manpower for the development of the country.

He intimated that his outfit values the relationship with the University and hoped that it continues to flourish.

Receiving the Cheque on behalf of the Management of the University, the Registrar, Surv. Paul Osei-Barima, Esq., expressed gratitude to Ghana Post Company Limited for their prompt response to the appeal to support the Endowment Fund.

He noted the outstanding relationship the University has with the company and said that their contribution was one that would promote the relationship and the development of the nation by extension. He assured that the donation would be judiciously managed for the attainment of the intended purpose.

The Finance Officer of UEW, Mr. Francis Obeng, was upbeat about the University’s relationship with Ghana Post Company Limited alluding to its mobile money platform as coming in handy and making it possible for prospective applicants of the University to buy forms at the comfort of their homes during the heady days of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“ We are happy; this is good and indeed that’s the beginning. I know what they can do”, he said.

The Director, Office for Institutional Advancement (OIA), Dr. Mavis Amo-Mensah, thanked Ghana Post Company Limited for their kind gesture and appealed to other well-meaning individuals and organisations to emulate the move by the company to support the Endowment Trust Fund.
