Pursue International Collaborations – CIP Vice-Dean
The Vice-Dean of the Centre for International Programmes (CIP), Dr. Gabriel Botchwey has urged Academics and students to find opportunities to seek more information and interact with students and Faculty Members from other parts of the world to enrich their academic experiences.
He stated that international collaborations which involve staff and student exchanges provides opportunities for adding to knowledge and understanding people from other parts of the world.
Dr. Botchway was speaking at the Central Campus Conference Room, Winneba during a day’s orientation programme organised by the Office of Dean of Student Affairs for international students from Oslo Metropolitan University, Norway, Europa University-Flensburg, Germany and the University College Copenhagen, Denmark who are at UEW as part of their study abroad programme in the Departments of Music, Theatre Arts and the Centre for African Studies. The international students will have their practicum and take courses from these Departments as well.

The CIP Vice-Dean indicated that the programme intended to orient the international students to the academic resources of the University to aid them do an effective and more productive academic work as well as network with colleagues from other universities.

There were presentations by facilitators on pertinent topics such as “International Issues, UEW at a Glance, Immigration Issues, Personal Security and Safety, Health Issues, Catering: Food and Eating Places, International Library Support, Recreation and Sports, International Banking and Finance, and Managing Cultural Shock”.
Among the facilitators present were the Assistant Director, Ghana Immigration Service, Winneba Branch, Joe Daah; Senior Assistant Registrar, Faculty of Foreign Languages Education and Communication, Mr. Andy Y. Agordah; Director, Directorate of Security Service, Mr. Bartholomew Alubokin; University Librarian, Mr. Viscount Buer; Chairman, Amalgamated Sports, Dr. Kwame Kyere Diabour; and Senior Lecturer, Department of Psychology and Education, Mrs. Christiana Armah.
