Radio Windy Bay donates items to Methodist Rafiki satellite Village
To support and put smiles on the faces of the less privileged in this festive season, management and staff of Radio Windy Bay 98.3MHz FM on Tuesday 26th December, 2017 presented items to the Methodist Rafiki Satellite Village at Gyaahadze in Winneba.
The items include:
- Six bags of rice
- A bag of sugar
- A gallon of cooking oil
- Five packs of toilet roll
- Five cartons of soft drink
- Seven sachets of detergent
- Biscuits
Presenting the items, the Coordinator of Radio Windy Bay, Mr Jones Appiah Kubi said Christmas was all about reminiscing the birth of the saviour Jesus Christ and showing love to others through giving and sharing whatever you have.
He urged corporate bodies to emulate what the station had done so that the Village could take proper care of the children and also help reduce the high rate of child trafficking and streetism as well.
“I urge other organisations to support such homes so that the children will not be on the streets. I believe proper care is given to these children and to do that, is not easy. So, there is the need to join hands to support them put an end to child trafficking, child labour and child delinquency.” He said.
In her response, the Social Relations Officer, Mrs. Mercy Asante thanked the management and staff of Radio Windy Bay for the act of kindness and asked for God’s blessing upon their lives.
The Methodist Rafiki Satellite Village is a home for the less privileged and orphans. It currently has 33 children in its care. It also has a school from nursery to Junior High School with population of about 150 pupils.
The home is ten years and has a land of about 20 acres. It is located at Gyaahadze, one of the villages in Winneba. It is fully funded and is under the care of the Methodist Church Ghana. Not that withstanding, donations are accepted from other Non Governmental Organisations and corporate bodies to support the good course of the home.
