SCMS Pays Courtesy Call on Ag. Vice-Chancellor

Faculty Members of the School of Communication and Media Studies (SCMS), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), on Monday, 18th October, 2021, paid a courtesy call on the Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Andy Ofori-Birikorang at the Council Chamber of the University to congratulate him on his new appointment. 

Prof. Ofori-Birikorang expressed gratitude for the courtesy call. He encouraged them to be grateful for everything, work with passion and dedication, recognise teamwork and add value to the lives of people they meet, especially students and colleague lecturers. He indicated that it is such among others that led to his appointment as Ag. Vice-Chancellor.

The Ag. Vice-Chancellor urged the SCMS staff to continue supporting each other to solidify the oneness amongst them.       

The Dean of the SCMS, Dr. Christiana Hammond, assured Prof. Ofori-Birikorang that he had the support of all Faculty Members to ensure that he succeeds in his new role.

“The good thing is that he’s done so much for the School already. For instance, he helped the School to attain the status of a School. Through his ingenuity we have a PhD programme in the School and that is something that we can never downplay and then we also have a Centre for Communication Education and Professional Development,” she indicated.  

The Vice-Dean of the SCMS, Mr. Kwesi Aggrey, who gave the purpose for the courtesy call expressed delight that one of their own had risen to that privileged position.

“So, we decided that we have to come to show our appreciation for that honour that has been bestowed on him,” he said. 

Members of the SCMS took turns to extend their congratulatory messages and support for the Ag. Vice-Chancellor in his new role.
