UEW Appreciates Staff

The University of Education, Winneba has shown appreciation to its staff with an end of year get-together for their immense contribution towards the upliftment of the image of the institution.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Mawutor Avoke, speaking at ceremonies held at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Car Park and the Senior Members and Staff Association (SEMSA Club House) on Tuesday, December 20 and Wednesday, December 21 in honour of the staff, said the gesture is expedient as it will go a long way to motivate the staff in their work. He however was quick to add that though a get-together is not enough considering the dedication and hard work of the staff, it was an appropriate way for the institution to say thank you to her staff.

“The end of year get together is a time to show appreciation to staff for a good work done. This gesture is not enough but it is a good way to say thank you to everyone” he said. He indicated that “it takes the efforts of everybody to move an agenda ahead, saying thank you to staff for their contributions was a way of appreciating their efforts and urging them on towards the upliftment of the university.”

The vice chancellor used the occasion to wish all staff a merry Christmas and a prosperous new year and to pay tribute to workers who have diligently served the institution but have been called by their maker to eternal sleep. He entreated all to tirelessly continue to serve the institution in the best way possible.

The staff, through their representatives were very appreciative of the Vice-Chancellor and the University for the Kind Gesture and promised their support and commitment towards building a better and stronger University for Ghana.

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni, the registrar, Dr. C.Y. Akwaa-Mensah, the University Librarian, Mr. Viscount B. Nortey Buer, the Internal Auditor, Ms. Sena Dake, the Director for Works and Physical Development, Mr. Fiifi Yankson are some key personalities who joined in the celebration.
