UEW Clinic Operates 24-Hour Healthcare – Ag. Director

The Ag. Director of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Clinic, Dr. John Kanyiri Yambah, has revealed that his outfit is now open for 24-hour, seven days in a week health care services to the University Community and its surroundings.

Dr. Yambah explained that the move was in fulfillment of the University’s contributions to satisfying the health targets of Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3), meeting universal health coverage, and enhancing service delivery to staff, students, and neighbouring Communities.

He indicated his outfit's determination to offer the best services to achieve its mission of supporting the University’s ultimate goal of training excellent educators for the betterment of the country.

 

 

Dr. John Kanyiri Yambah

The Ag. Director made this revelation when he paid a working visit to the College of Languages Education (CoLANGE), Ajumako Campus, to familiarise himself with activities at the College and also solicit views and feedback in strategising towards improving healthcare on campus. He held discussions regarding the services provided at the clinic with a range of stakeholders on campus.

Dr. Yambah assured staff and students that the CoLANGE Clinic would be assisted with its basic medications, laboratory supplies, and other resources to enable it to effectively serve the College Community and beyond. He stated that he would work with the College Administration to ensure that the initiated expansion project for the clinic is completed. 

He assured students that an official circular would be issued to address concerns they have about their healthcare benefits (packages).

The Dean, Faculty of Ghanaian Languages Education, Prof. Samuel Alhassan Issah, described the interaction as historic and advised the Director of Health Services to continue with such innovative strategies in his quest to improve health service delivery in the University Community. He thanked Dr. Yambah for the initiative and implored him to ensure that all concerns raised by staff and students are addressed satisfactorily.

The Head of the CoLANGE Clinic, Dr. Beth Offei-Awuku, led the Ag. Director to inspect the Ajumako Campus health facility. He noted that CoLANGE has a well-maintained Clinic. The Ag. Director lauded the Clinic Staff for their selflessness and expressed confidence in the human resources the facility has at its disposal to provide the best services to the university community.
