UEW Health Services Begin Decontamination Exercise
The Health Services of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has started decontaminating all four campuses of the University to ensure the safety of final year students who are back on campus to complete the 2019/2020 academic year. This was occasioned by the novel COVID-19 pandemic which forced a change in the University’s mode of delivering academic activities.
The decontamination of lecture rooms, surfaces, doors, walkways and staircases for safe and effective academic work is programmed to take place at least three times a week. This is complemented by enhanced cleaning services of all spaces, surfaces and handles to curtail the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Management, consistent with the government’s promise to supply the University with the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), is providing students with nose masks for adequate protection while on campus.
Additionally, hand sanitisers, hand sanitizer dispensers, veronica buckets as well as hand washing basins have been fixed on all floors of lecture blocks, halls of residence and other major facilities. The temperature of all students, staff and visitors are being monitored at the entrances to the University and all other major facilities
In a related development, Zoomlion Ghana on Friday, 12th June, 2020, disinfected Ajumako campus of the UEW.
