UEW Holds Orientation for New Medical Officers

On 19th March, 2018, an orientation to brief and usher three new Medical Officers into the health system of the University of Education, Winneba was organized by the Directorate of University Health Services.

The orientation exposed the Medical Officers to the guiding regulations, policies, and basic information needed to aid in smoothly carrying out their official duties as College Medical Officers.

The Ag. Finance Officer, Mr. Chirani B. Bruno and the Deputy Registrar in charge of Human Resource, Mrs. Deborah Afful briefed the Medical Officers on the Finance and Human Resource functions of Healthcare delivery.

The Unit heads of the University Pharmacy – Pharm Foster Asante, Medical Laboratory – Mr. Gabriel Abbam, Nursing – SNO Cecil Randolph Tettey, and Hospital Administration – Mr. Nai Doku each made a brief presentation on the duties and expectations of the College Medical Officers in their respective roles. 

Dr. Mrs. Beth Offei Awuku, the Ag. Director of Health Services, ended the orientation with an overview of the privileges, duties and responsibilities of the College Medical Officers, reminding them of their Hippocratic oath and urging them to give off their best services in the most professional, punctual and patient friendly manner.
