UEW Student Places 3rd in ARSO’s 8th Continental Essay Competition

A final year student of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Mr. Emmanuel Quaicoe Dadson, has placed 3rd in the Ghana Standards Authority’s 2020/2021 African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO) essay competition at the national level.

Mr. Emmanuel Quaicoe Dadson is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Procurement and Supply Chain Management at the School of Business.

The contest was opened for all students in institutions of higher learning in African Universities under the age of 35 years on the topic, “The role of Standardisation in promoting Arts, Culture and Heritage – The Creative Economy in Africa”. 

The themes of the essay are based on the yearly African Union Themes and aim to have three categories of winners: the National, Regional and Continental.

Started officially in 2013, the Annual ARSO Continental Standardisation Essay Competition is aimed at empowering the African Youth to appreciate the role and importance, as well as the benefits of standardisation in facilitating sustainable development in Africa.
