Women Thrive When Given Equal Opportunities with Men - UEW Pro-Vice-Chancellor

Prof. Andy Ofori-Birikorang, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has stressed the significance of providing women with equal access and opportunities in all spheres of life.

He opined that when women are in positions of leadership, they advance society more than men because they uphold better moral standards.

School of Graduate Studies Interacts with Academic Heads

The School of Graduate Studies (SGS), has held four-day separate interactive sessions with Deans, Heads of Department, and Graduate Coordinators of the various Schools and Faculties at Winneba and Ajumako campuses to deliberate on issues of concern relating to the quality of graduate studies at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).

The interaction touched on issues of enhancing the quality of postgraduate research and thesis, conducting research capacity workshops for graduate students, assessing thesis/dissertation, and other administrative procedures at the School.

UEW Council Chair Urges Prof. Mawutor Avoke to promote Unity and Reconciliation

The Chairman of the University’s Council has urged Professor Mawutor Avoke to genuinely pursue reconciliation as he returns to the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) as substantive Vice-Chancellor.

He further impressed upon Prof. Avoke to use progressive and consultative skills to promote a stable University community that will lead to transformative academic laurels.

UEW Governing Council Chairman Meets Management on Reinstatement of Prof. Mawutor Avoke and Five Others

The Chairman of the UEW Governing Council has met with Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) as part of the processes of complying with the Court’s ruling to reinstate Prof. Mawutor Avoke and Five Others to the University.

The Chairman informed Management that Prof. Avoke and the Five Others will resume work with immediate effect. Present at the meeting were Prof. Mawutor Avoke, Dr. Theophilus Ackorlie, Mr. Frank Owusu Boateng, Ms. Mary Dzimey and Daniel Tetteh who are part of staff reinstated.

UEW Ranked First in Ghana in 2021 UI GreenMetric World University Ranking

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has been named the Most Sustainable University in Ghana and the 893rd Most Sustainable University in the World by the University of Indonesia (UI) GreenMetric World University Rankings for the year 2021.

The ranking is based on six distinct categories: setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste, water, transportation, and education, each with its own weighted indicators.

UEW Governing Council Congratulates Prof. Andrews Ofori-Birikorang

The Governing Council of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) at an emergency meeting in Accra, yesterday, 6th October 2021, among other things congratulated Prof. Andrews Ofori-Birikorang on his assumption of office as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University following the end of term and retirement of Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni since 30th September 2021.
